Poonch Police Seizes Five Tractor Trolleys and Two Dumpers Involved in Illegal Mining
Poonch, September 15, 2025:
Continuing its sustained action against illegal mining, Poonch Police achieved another success during the intervening night of September 14/15. In two separate operations, Police Stations Surankote and Mandi seized multiple vehicles involved in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minor minerals.
At Surankote, during routine patrolling and naka checking, Police intercepted and seized five tractor trolleys that were found loaded with illegally extracted material. In a parallel action, Police Station Mandi also seized two dumpers engaged in illegal mining activities. All the vehicles were taken into police custody on the spot.
The Mining Department has been informed accordingly for further legal proceedings under the relevant laws. Police authorities have reiterated that strict and uncompromising action will continue against those indulging in such unlawful activities.
District Police Poonch remains fully committed to enforcing the law and protecting the environment from illegal exploitation. The campaign against illegal mining will be further intensified in the days ahead to ensure that violators are dealt with firmly and in accordance w ith the law.
