Poonch Police Seize Heavy Machinery and Vehicles in Illegal Mining Crackdown

Poonch | August 25, 2025:
Continuing its drive to curb the menace of illegal mining, Poonch Police under the jurisdiction of Police Station Surankote seized heavy machinery and vehicles used in unlawful activities.

The seized items include one Poclain machine, one JCB, one tipper, and two tractor trolleys, which were found engaged in illegal mining in the River Suran.

Acting on specific information, a swift raid was carried out by the Station House Officer PS Surankote, during which all machinery and vehicles were seized on the spot. The Mining Department was immediately informed for further necessary action.

Poonch Police reiterated its firm resolve to take strict action against the illegal mining activities and urged the general public to extend cooperation by sharing timely information related to illegal mining activities.
