SDPO Surankote Chairs Police–Public Meeting at Police Station Surankote

In continuation of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community, SDPO Surankote, Sh. Surinder Singh JKPS, convened a Police–Public Meeting at Police Station Surankote on Tuesday.

The meeting witnessed active participation from prominent citizens, local elders, and youth, providing a platform for open and constructive interaction between the Police and the public. The objective of the meeting was to address local issues, discuss social and legal challenges, and create awareness about recent developments in policing and community safety.

During the session, SDPO Surankote patiently heard the grievances and suggestions of the participants and addressed several key concerns raised by them, including the rising menace of drug abuse among youth, the threat of cybercrime, and the implementation of new criminal laws.

He reiterated the Police Department’s firm commitment to combating drug trafficking and assured that strict surveillance and intensified action will continue against those involved in the illegal trade. He also urged citizens, particularly the youth, to stay vigilant, avoid drugs, and extend cooperation to Police in maintaining peace and harmony.

The participants appreciated the initiative of District Police Poonch for organizing such interactive meetings and assured their continued support in promoting peace and strengthening Police–public relations.
